General Description Oxy-BacTM is a proprietary combination of natural, facultative aerobic bacteria used to control corrosion and scale. Oxy-Bac scavenges oxygen through its metabolic pathways. In addition, Oxy-Bac by-products, such as organic acids and biosurfactants, have the ability to disperse, dissolve, and control paraffin deposition.
Oxy-Bac protects equipment from oxygen related corrosion by sequestering oxygen in the system. Oxy-bac also inproves the effectiveness of corrosion inhibitors by removing the depolarizing agents from system fluids.

Application Oxy-Bac comes as a ready-to-use liquid formulation and can be introduced to the well by batch, squeeze, or continuous treatments. Batch treatments usually involve the product being applied to the annulus and flushed with clean lease or KCl water. For optimum performance, it is recommended that the well be shut in for one to three days after treatment; however, this is not mandatory.
Squeeze treatment applications are a function of fluid production, porosity, perforation interval, and desired depth of penetration. The well is shut in for three to seven days.
Oxy-Bac can also be injected continuously into a water injection system. A small pump may be used to inject the product. The best results are obtained when Oxy-Bac is applied close to the oxygen source.
Handling and Safety Oxy-Bac meets EPA requirements for release into the environment. Special clothing or equipment are not required for handling Oxy-Bac. Routine sanitary hygiene practices should be observed.
Shipping Oxy-Bac is shipped in two sizes: in 5-gallon containers (45 lbs.), and in 55-gallon containers (495 lbs.), F.O.B. Round Rock, Texas.
