Central Texas Environmental Biotechnology Company 1 of only 7 Invited by NASA to Washington, DC
Round Rock, Texas February 16, 2011: Micro-Bac International, Inc.™ has been invited by the National Aeronautical Space Administration (N.A.S.A.)as one of only seven other companies to appear with them at the Capitol in Washington, DC before Congressional leaders for “NASA Technology Days” on March 15, 2011.
“NASA Technology Days” is an outcome from spin-off technologies that have resulted from companies like Micro-Bac International’s collaborative efforts with NASA. Micro-Bac through the award of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts with Marshall Space Flight Center, developed a phototrophic cell for water purification aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The cell can provide a low-power alternative for wastewater treatment during wide-ranging space missions. Other spin-off technologies resulted for Micro-Bac since that are used for degradation and odor control of municipal lagoons, remediation, wastewater treatment, microbial enhanced oil recovery, and even bioremediation from oil spills, such as the most recent one in the Gulf.
